ABOUT US
Isabelle Long and Ashley Lim were awarded the 2022 Trinity Laban Innovation Award which spurred them on to start TRANSCENDANCE.
TRANSCENDANCE is a project that mixes a range of styles such as contemporary, hip-hop and commercial classes to run with a mental health and well-being focus.
We are taking inspiration from the energy and creativity found in some of the best open professional dance spaces to share this with those in communities that are disadvantaged in being able to access these spaces and those looking for support with mental health & well-being. We have found through personal experience that moving your body and connecting with others is a well-known recipe for positive life-changing, effects on mental health and well-being, and Transcendance wants to encourage those at any level of movement experience to find support through dancing.

We want to intertwine our movement practice and class structure with grounding techniques, breath work and mental reflections to enable those in need of mental coping strategies to find support in using those strategies in times when they might be finding life difficult to cope with and adding a more hyper-active and fun experience towards our sessions.
